John and I have been wine club members at Blenheim for years now. Actually, I may have even been a wine club member before we met, so that means I’m going on 5 years now, and wow, the progress I’ve seen throughout the years is amazing. From my first late fall trip to the winery, it was love at first site. Upon entering the tasting room with the vast ceilings and wooden beams, I felt right at home! Then I tasted the wine, and the rest is history.
One of the best things about being wine club members is that we get to see the seasons change outside of Charlottesville and its truly beautiful! We often try and coordinate our trips out to Blenheim with other things we are doing in Charlottesville, but this past Sunday was the first sunny day in what felt like an eternity, so we took the day, made the hour+ drive and it was one of the best days we’ve had together that I can remember.
Being a wine club member at Blenheim means that we get 4 bottles of wine for $75 three times a year. This is an incredibly good deal IMO. This also means that once a year we get the Painted Red and Painted White Wines, with custom designed labels by Dave Matthews, who owns the Vineyard! In addition to the tri-annual wine pick-up, we also get free tastings and discounted bottle prices, which means that when we visit we like to try out any new wines that aren’t going to be in next quarters shipment whenever we visit. This time we tried the Rkasiteli and it was the perfect refreshing wine for a hot *practically summer* day.

We actually had our engagement photos taken at Blenheim back in 2014. My, how we both have changed!
PS. this was in no way sponsored (but I would totally be open to the option Blenheim 😉 We just love this tradition)
