I was never a tomboy or an athlete, and the only sneakers I wore growing up were tennis shoes on the tennis court, or when required in gym class. As my style has evolved over the years, I have always had my favorite go-to booties, heels and wedges and I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a closet FULL of shoes.  However, over the past year or so, I have unintentionally been growing my sneaker collection almost tenfold.

For the past few years I had an old pair of Nikes for my occasional work out and a pair of black Chuck Taylors and that was really the extent of it.  However, I looked in my closet the other day and whoa.  For Christmas last year John got me a pair of white high top Vans, this year he got me a pair of Nike Air Force Ones and a new pair of “running” shoes.  I bought myself this fabulous pair of dad sneakers back in the summer and they have gottten MAJORRRR use. A new pair of Sketchers arrived on my doorstep thanks to an Urban Outfitters Flash Sale last week, bringing all the 90s vibes.  I also added a pair of black leather high top Vans to the fam just this week, thanks to the Nordstrom Sale.

Lately, I have loved styling them not only with my athleisure looks, but more often with skirts and dresses.  Comfort over high heels is the name of the game for moi these days.

Who else is on the sneaker bandwagon? What are your favorite styles?

I’m totally into sneakers right now. I’m the same one. I used to only have a pair of Nikes for working out and a pair of chucks. Now I’m more open to sneakers. They actually make some outfits look more chic.

Loving how you styled these with the skirt! I’ve been trying to incorporate more sneakers and casual shoes in my wardrobe, it’s seriously lacking 😀
