My Favorite Corners of The Homestead

It’s that time of year again!! Time for another photo journal of The Homestead.

We spent Christmas at our favorite resort this year, but over the course of those few days, I decided to leave the “camera camera” at home.  Whenever we are traveling, especially at my favorite places, I often find myself too preoccupied with getting the right shots, and not enough time in the moment.  Christmas was magical as always and John, my parents and I had a lovely time taking in the holiday spirit, puzzling in the room and roaming the grounds, always reminiscing about our wedding there.

However, Christmas was a last minute decision and I had already decided to surprise John with a trip to celebrate his 35th birthday just a month after the holidays. SO, naturally, I took advantage of my sweet, sweet instagram husband to snap a few photos in my favorite nooks around the resort. He is such a trooper as always, after all, it was his birthday celebration hehe.

If you follow along with me and The Crystal Press on instagram, you are no stranger to this secret room.  I first discovered it when I saw photos of John and his groomsmen looking out of the window here, watching all of the guests arrive at our wedding.  The simple black and white tile in this hidden hallway just scream insta-worthy.  You can find this nook off of the Tower Suite, across from The Library.

Shop the look, including my current go-to cardigan from the Who, What, Wear Target Collection >>

Every time I enter this hallway, I am instantly happy.  Not only because this corridor leads down to the spa, but also because the way the light flows in is just truly magical!

Well, this one is a dead giveaway. My absolute favorite place (well, at least in the beautiful state of Virginia) is in the Serenity Garden at the spa. John and I spent a few hours there on Sunday before leaving and as always it was our favorite time.  From the hot springs to the reflexology walk, to the aquavana spa inside, it is always the most zen experience.  We lucked out with a 55 degree day in the middle of the winter, but even on the chilliest of days it is so refreshing.

Until next time! See you in July.
