A few weeks ago, John and I went to down to Miami for the first time and had an absolute blast! My original plan was to go down with Catherine and do the whole Swim Week thing, but when she couldn’t go, we turned it into an early anniversary trip, with a little swim week added in. I’m not huge into the whole clubbing and partying scene, so I was a little worried that South Beach was going to be overwhelming, but I was totally wrong.
The first two nights, we stayed pretty far south on South Beach at the Marriott Stanton Hotel, by recommendation from my parents. It was down the beach from some of the larger, rowdier hotels, mostly nestled between high rise apartment buildings, which I liked! The room was perfect and we could even see the ocean from our balcony. We sat on the beach all day, biked down the boardwalk to have a drink at the W Hotel and peep the scene for the later Badgley Mischka Swim show. We grabbed a bite at Azabu, located in the Marriott, which we later found out is the best sushi in town. DEFINITELY recommend.
SO ~ I don’t have a comprehensive Miami guide for you guys on here, just some pretty pictures, a few places we visited and what I wore. I’d love to answer any questions you have about future Miami trips though! There’s just wayyyyy too much for one blog post.

This Jason Wu number was a favorite from you guys on my stories from Rent the Runway, and I totally fell in love with it in Miami!

We had a drink at the outside downstairs bar at Smith & Wollensky, with views of the water & Miami one evening. DEFINITELY recommend. My mom also said they have the best crabcakes, so next time we’ll be sure to eat there too!

I absolutely loved taking John to his first runway show – and one where the models are in bathing suits, no less!! He had such a great time and took me back to the feeling that I got when Catherine & I saw our first NYFW Show. It was Tadashi Shoji and the energy was electric. Poolside with models & bikinis was definitely a good introduction and the collection was gorg!
~My Miami Travel Essentials~
Moroccan Oil SPF 20 Sun Lotion : Cath gave this to me before our trip & it was a life saver. Love the way it smells & didn’t make me feel sticky
NYM Sea Salt Spray & Dry Shampoo : Self Explanatory, you guys know I love these products
Cle De Peau Foaming Cleaner : I “splurged” on this months ago and was so glad I did. Makes my face SO soft & a tiny bit goes a long way.
La Mer: the creme de la creme, duh.
Old Whaling Co Body Butter : this comes in SO many great scents and the small size is perfect for travel! soft, soft skin after a day in the sun guaranteed
