So far, Fall has shown its beautiful face, juuuuust a few times here in Richmond. The weekend was gorgeous, in the low 80s, and in the mornings and evenings we could feel that slight bite of a chill coming on. That being said, yesterday was a sweltering 90+ degrees so it’s a little difficult to keep writing about fall but maybe if we talk about it enough, it will show up again.
Anywho, on one breezy day a week or so ago I got out of ze house for the afternoon with Catherine, to enjoy a delicious caramel espresso drink & soup at Can Can, and of course snap a few pix! I changed into this number, originally just for comfort, after we snapped another look & said to Cath “well I might as well take some in this too…”
If you follow along on The Crystal Press and my insta-stories you will know that I thought when I ordered this that it was just the sweatshirt. Then it arrived and it was the whole dress and I was SO pleasantly surprised. The perfect piece for fall / winter transition. Literally a whole outfit in one single, comfy Free People piece. That being said, unfortunately it is sold out! However, Free People has tons of great comfy basics right now that are definitely worth investing in. I’ve got my eye on a few sweaters, including this one that Catherine has. *adds to cart*

Anyone else forever wearing mismatched socks? I had a conversation with someone once who said “people who match their socks are definitely squares” and that has really stuck with me. Thoughts, y’all? Any free spirits out there that have to match their socks? In any case, I love Happy Socks and I have so many pairs at this point. On a given day I am wearing a mismatched pair – one black polka dots with one Rolling Stones, one pizza with one flowers, etc..
And last, but definitely not least, I am OBSESSED with my new Marc Fisher boots! I have been rocking the white pair for the past year { in fact I wrote a blog post about them almost exactly a year ago } and I was so excited when they sent me this fun snake print pair this year. I have found that Marc Fisher makes some of the best, most reliable footwear when it comes to boots & booties. The price point may be a little higher, but its deserved because as much as I wore my white ones last year, they look basically brand new. SO, my food for thought today is : spend a little extra, you’ll be glad you did in the long run!
Well I’m definitely a square then cause my socks always match haha .. but I do have fun with the patterns! I love all those options you linked!
