My Favorite Virginia Wineries

In honor of the first day of Virginia Wine Month, I wanted to share my favorite Virginia Wineries with you guys! You have probably seen me posting about most of these places before, but it’s good to have everything in one place right?

Early Mountain Vineyards

John and I finally made it out to Early Mountain earlier this summer when we went to stay at Getaway House. I have been drinking their wines in restaurants around town for years, remember when it opened and have always been a big fan, but hadn’t visited until this year! If you are looking for a weekend away, I highly recommend going to stay at Getaway House and visiting Early Mountain while you’re there.  We only did a wine tasting and got a bottle, but they have a full service restaurant as well, which has an amazing outdoor seating area as well as plenty of tables indoors in their gorgeous tasting room.  The staff was energetic and knowledgeable and we had a great time during the tasting.

Favorite Early Mountain Wines this year: Soif, Five Forks, Rose.

King Family Vineyards

King Family Vineyards is known for their delicious Rosé (“Crosé”) and their Sunday Polo Matches.  It has been a staple in the Virginia Wine community for as long as I can remember and I always love my experiences there. During and after college, my friends and I would drive out to King Family when visiting Charlottesville, grab a bottle of wine and sit out on the lawn.  These are some of my fondest memories! Recently, Catherine and I visited with Lexus of Richmond & Cville Tours to celebrate their partnership and they really know how to roll out the hospitality.  With two tasting rooms, outside seating and plenty of lawn space to enjoy the day, King Family is a great place to visit to experience all that Virginia Wine Country has to offer.

Favorite King Family Wines This Year: Roseland, Crosé, Meritage.

Veritas Vineyards

I haven’t made it to Veritas this year, but it still remains one of my favorites! From visiting with my best pals during our winter trips to Wintergreen, to our stop on our tour with Lexus of Richmond & Cville Tours, the experience is always a good one, with great wine.  During the winter, you can cozy up in the plush leather couches and enjoy and nice glass of red and during the summer you can take advantage of their large side porch and sweeping valley views.

Blenheim Vineyards

Last but definitely not least, my OG favorite: Blenheim. You have definitely heard me talk about Blenheim here, on the feed & on stories, so unless this is literally your first time here you definitely know what’s up.  Blenheim is owned by Dave Matthews and I have been a wine club member here for YEARS.  I love being a wine club member, because we have to make the trip at least 3 times a year to pick up our wines, which means we get to see each season.  Most years we make it up well more than 3 times, as we stop through every time we are going to Charlottesville or just passing through.  It has become one of our favorite traditions! The tasting room is gorgeous, the staff is THE BEST and you can always count on the wine being delicious.  Plus, they regularly have food trucks and live music on the weekends.

Favorite Blenheim Wines this year: Albarino, Rosé & Petite Verdot.

More at Blenheim hereeee from a post last spring!

This is such a fun post! I love learning about new wineries (or breweries), because they really help bring a community together and tell the story or share the history of the area. It’s such an awesome concept, plus wine haha.

If I make it out to Virginia any time soon then I’d definitely like to check out these wineries. There are probably some good ones here in Georgia, too.
