We were lucky enough to spend a week at the beach with John’s family at the end of July. It was the first time that all 9 of us had been able to take a vacation together and it was so great. John’s sister Susannah got engaged to her boyfriend Eric on the second night, and that really set the tone for the whole trip. It was the best week — full of lots of early morning beach walks, lots of laughs, family dinner every night and many hours spent soaking up the sun.
I even woke up early one morning, just after sunrise to take photos. The photo below is my favorite from the series, and I’m so proud of myself. I took the tripod down to the beach, and almost got knocked over by a dog out for his early run, but I did it.

There are some really great pieces in her collection and you guys already know I love Rent The Runway. Instead of spending money on brand new clothes that you might only wear once, RTR is a great option, even right now. Plenty of bloggers (yes, me too) are out there trying to sell you allllll kinds of things (aka spend money), so I encourage you, if you have money to spend to look at renting. It is a sustainable option, with luxury designers available at amazing prices.

Discovered this absolutely delicious seltzer, Mighty Swell. HIGHLY recommend. It has actual fruit juice, which means, yes, sugars but it tastes so much better than the usual suspects.
We had the absolute best time over the week with our nephew, Afton. He is just a little over two years old and is talking up a storm, taking in everything we say, laughing and completely loving the ocean. And trucks.

My full, honest, unsponsored review of the Summersalt One Piece is up on The Crystal Press! I had seen these suits all over social media and just had to find out for myself if they live up to the hype! I struggle to find one pieces with my short torso, but took the plunge anyways.
John and I took a trip 15 miles north to Beaufort for the day toward the end of the week. I visited Beaufort when Catherine and I went on a press trip to The Crystal Coast, and knew I had to take John back. We had lunch on the water at Front Street Grill (got a painkiller obvi) and strolled streets, admiring the houses that date back before the Revolutionary War. It is the most quaint waterfront town with a history of pirates, and a beautiful state park island where horses run wild.
It was a fabulous week with our fabulous family.

It looks like it was an absolutely wonderful time. I haven’t been to the beach in several years and I miss that vacation feeling. Gosh, honestly, I haven’t had a real vacation in several years, now that I think about it. You’re making me want to GO!
