My current fall uniform is pretty simple. Sweaters (Cardigans), Spanx Faux Leather Leggings & Boots
As much as I tried to fight the fall weather, I have to admit that when I wake up in the morning and a sweater is all I need to throw on over a graphic tee or maxi, it feels good. Sweater weather is the best. I’m not sure how I seem to forget that from year to year, but the seasons can be complicated here in Virginia and this time of year we have cool mornings and hot evenings. But, there’s always chilly houses, offices and evenings to snuggle up in your favorite sweaters. This year my fall uniform doesn’t differ too much from years past, except for that in the past year the Spanx faux leather leggings came into my life. I own 3 pairs and chances are, I am wearing them multiple days a week. The Navy ones were my latest purchase and they are currently on sale!I have pretty much swapped out jeans for these leggings at this point, for sheer comfort.
I usually throw on some sort of oversized t-shirt with the leggings and a cardigan on top of that! I found this Reclaimed Vintage number on ASOS, but it sold out super quickly and for good reason. I found one that is almost identical on Abercrombie, and have linked a few others later in this post. I love a cardigan because you can still show off whatever t-shirt, cami or top you have on underneath, and at the same time add dimension. I especially love how a chunky sweater looks in comparison to the faux leather leggings and then to add even more dimension, throw on a pair of boots!
I recently wrote a post over on The Crystal Press about why we love white boots to add a little extra pep in your step, but really any boots will do. Whether you opt for a comfortable short bootie, or my favorite pair of Marc Fisher combat boots, I feel like any pair of boots can elevate your fall looks!
